Engineering Manager

About the role

This is an Engineering Manager (Business Technology) opportunity with a fast-growing US healthtech business that partners with employers to steer members towards higher-quality doctors and lower-cost care. The role leads the engineering behind the company’s internal support and employee systems, keeping them scalable as headcount grows fast. It reports to the VP of Platform Engineering. You’ll own the identity provider end to end, including onboarding and offboarding for employees and contractors, and own the internal network for the New York headquarters. You’ll grow the business technology team through capacity planning, hiring and development, and build the metrics that show organisational health, such as support SLA adherence. The environment includes Okta, CrowdStrike, Google Workspace and macOS fleet management. The ideal candidate will be a manager who can align technical roadmaps with the employee experience, spot where a team is spending time on low-value work and redirect it, and build stakeholder relationships across the business. No specific years of experience are listed, but the role calls for urgency, individual accountability and direct feedback. This is an in-office role in New York City, three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), suited to a systems-minded leader who enjoys running the internal engine of a high-growth company. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
