Senior Software Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Software Engineer opportunity with a fast-growing US healthtech business that partners with employers to steer members towards higher-quality doctors and lower-cost care. The role sits in Engineering, on a team building systems that analyse billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers. The company runs on AWS and Kubernetes and is adopting AI across its operations. You’ll lead technical strategy and decisions for your domains, use AI to build, optimise and maintain software, and mentor and develop early-career engineers. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to understand the domain and iterate on projects, and protect user privacy and security. The stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, Go, Airflow, dbt and Claude Code. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years’ software engineering experience, a generalist mindset, and a demonstrated ability to build complex systems using AI coding agents. They will be a fast learner who mentors well, familiar with data security and HIPAA, and comfortable in a culture that values urgency and candid feedback. This is an in-office role in New York City, three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), suited to a senior engineer who wants technical ownership in a fast-moving team. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
