About the role

This is a Software Engineer III opportunity with a fast-growing US healthtech business that partners with employers to steer members towards higher-quality doctors and lower-cost care. The role sits in Engineering, on a team building the systems that analyse billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers. The platform runs on AWS and Kubernetes and the team uses AI across its operations, with system load roughly doubling each year. You’ll use AI to build, optimise and maintain software, collaborate across disciplines to understand the domain and iterate on projects, and protect user privacy and security. The stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, Go, Airflow, dbt and Claude Code. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ software engineering experience, particularly with distributed, event-driven architectures, and a generalist mindset with a willingness to learn new tools and techniques. Familiarity with data security and HIPAA is expected, along with comfort in a fast-paced, high-accountability culture. This is an in-office role in New York City, three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday), suited to an engineer who wants to work on distributed systems at growing scale. Visa sponsorship is not available. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

  • Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
  • Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
  • Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
  • Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
