Engineering Manager

About the role

This is an Engineering Manager (Platform) opportunity with a Series C US digital health business offering dietitian-led, insurance-covered metabolic health care across all 50 states. The role leads Platform Engineering, which owns the company’s infrastructure, reliability, scalability and developer velocity, and also covers architecture for patient and provider workflows and hardening shared LLM and RAG systems for production. You’ll build, lead and grow a team of four to five engineers while staying hands-on through architecture, pair programming, code reviews and on-call. You’ll set the team’s vision and roadmap with engineering leads, security and IT, drive decisions on system design, observability and reliability, and report on platform health through uptime, incident response, infrastructure cost and time to production. You’ll also maintain the security and compliance posture, including auditable systems. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years’ professional software engineering experience and 2+ years of engineering management, with the technical depth to contribute directly in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL and ECS on AWS or similar. Healthcare or regulated-industry experience, infrastructure as code, observability and incident leadership would be advantageous. There is a strong preference for New York City or San Francisco, and the role suits a hands-on platform leader who wants to build a team and a foundation for AI-enabled care. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
