Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

About the role

This is a Senior Software Engineer (Data Platform) opportunity with a growing Series B New York health tech business that uses AI orchestration to improve revenue cycle management for healthcare providers. The role is a senior individual contributor who owns data platform workstreams end to end, building the pipelines and warehouse infrastructure that move healthcare data from source systems into production. You’ll own workstreams from requirements through to production operation, build pipelines that handle idempotency, late-arriving data, backfills and failure recovery, and design extract infrastructure for EHR sources such as Epic Clarity and athenahealth. You’ll build curated, trusted data models, mentor peers, review designs, look after platform health (observability, access control and warehouse cost) and join the on-call rotation. The stack includes Snowflake, SQLMesh, Temporal, Python, AWS, Fivetran and Datadog. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience building and operating production data systems, with end-to-end ownership of at least one non-trivial pipeline or platform component. Strong Python and advanced SQL are essential, along with hands-on experience of a modern warehouse (Snowflake preferred), an orchestrator such as Temporal or Airflow, and SQLMesh or dbt. Healthcare data experience (EHR, HL7/FHIR, claims, HIPAA) would be advantageous. This is a hybrid position in New York City, suited to an engineer who can explain where past designs broke under load and what they changed. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
