Senior Software Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Software Engineer opportunity with a Series A New York health tech business that builds patient engagement software for biopharma companies supporting people with chronic and rare diseases. It is a generalist role spanning backend and frontend, with the option to focus on particular parts of the stack depending on the team, and it carries ownership of large systems end to end. You’ll lead the design, build and scaling of software for a growing product and customer base, own large projects and drive long-term technical vision, and work with Product, Design and Client Solutions to scope and deliver user-facing work. You’ll use AI and LLMs to move faster and to power product features, improve internal engineering systems such as testing, deployment and observability, take part in on-call, and mentor other engineers. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years’ professional software engineering experience, expertise in at least one modern language such as TypeScript, Python or Go, and experience with relational databases, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems. A product-engineering mindset that balances quality, speed and user value is important. Node.js, React, GraphQL, AWS and Terraform are a bonus, as are healthcare experience and experience building LLM-powered products. This is an in-office role in New York City with occasional remote flexibility. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
