Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Platform Engineer opportunity with a Series B health tech business building an AI doctor that offers free AI consultations and low-cost physician visits. The role improves the systems used to build, deploy, observe and operate the product, including the environment in which engineers and coding agents make and validate changes. You’ll improve the reliability of production services on AWS ECS, build shared infrastructure, service templates and delivery workflows, and improve local development, CI, testing and deployment. You’ll make repositories and documentation ready for coding agents, add guardrails for agent-produced changes, automate recurring work such as service setup and incident triage, and provide logs, metrics and alerts. You’ll also set standards for incident response and recovery, build security and compliance controls into delivery, and track infrastructure cost. The stack includes AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions and CloudWatch. The ideal candidate will have experience building and operating production systems on AWS, with strong knowledge of containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, networking and observability, and daily experience with coding agents. Many candidates will have 5+ years of relevant experience, and experience with AI infrastructure, regulated systems or high-traffic applications would be advantageous. This is a hybrid position in New York City or San Francisco. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
