About the role

This is an Engineering Manager (Platform) opportunity with a Series B health tech business building an AI doctor that offers free AI consultations and low-cost physician visits. The role leads the platform engineering function that underpins the company’s production services, delivery workflows and developer environments, in a business that handles sensitive patient data and builds AI-native engineering practice. The posting gives limited detail beyond the title, but the platform team’s remit includes the reliability of production services on AWS, shared infrastructure and delivery tooling, and the security, privacy and compliance controls that apply to patient data. Expect to lead platform engineers, set standards for reliability and incident response, and work closely with product, AI, data and security engineers. The working environment is AI-native, with engineers and coding agents making changes to production systems under guardrails. This is a hybrid position in New York City or San Francisco, suited to an engineering leader who has run a platform or infrastructure team on AWS and wants to shape engineering practice in a regulated, fast-moving setting. Confirm team size, reporting line and level with the hiring team before submitting candidates. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

  • Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
  • Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
  • Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
  • Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
