Engineering Manager

About the role

This is a Software Engineering Manager opportunity with a New York virtual healthcare company building a telemedicine platform to make high-quality care accessible wherever people are. The role is a hands-on engineering manager who writes code while leading a team of full-stack engineers, and it reports directly to the CEO. You’ll code hands-on while managing engineers, grow the team from about five to ten or more full-stack engineers, improve platform performance and user experience, and lead architecture decisions for the telemedicine platform. You’ll mentor engineers, run code reviews and enforce standards, identify and mitigate security risks, and work with product, design, QA and executive leadership. The ideal candidate will have prior experience at an early-stage startup, preferably in healthcare, with strong skills in TypeScript, JavaScript and React. Supabase experience is preferred, along with demonstrated technical leadership and player-coach experience. The posting does not state years of experience.
