Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack [NYC or SF]
Amigo · New York, NY; San Francisco Bay Area, CA
About the role
This is a Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) opportunity with a New York clinical AI company that builds infrastructure which health systems, life sciences companies, payors and government agencies use to run patient-facing care. It is the staff-level version of the company’s full-stack role, building clinical oversight interfaces, natural-language data research and tools for shaping agent behaviour, with features owned end to end. You’ll build real-time clinical oversight interfaces, own features across schema, API and UI, build tools that let non-engineers shape agent behaviour, and enable natural-language exploration of healthcare data. You’ll set the standard for reliability and performance of the applications that clinical teams and customers use daily. The posting does not name a specific stack. The ideal candidate will have shipped production full-stack features at scale, be strong across data modelling, APIs and modern front-end, and hold high standards for correctness with sensitive data, with the product sense to lead at staff level. Regulated-domain experience, WebSockets or server-sent events, design systems and production AI or ML would be advantageous. Years of experience are not stated. This is an on-site role in New York City, with San Francisco as a secondary location. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
What you'll do
- Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
- Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
- Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
