Senior Forward Deployed Engineer [NYC or SF]

About the role

This is a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer opportunity with a New York clinical AI company that builds infrastructure which health systems, life sciences companies, payors and government agencies use to run patient-facing care. The role leads the technical delivery of customer deployments end to end, setting architecture, committing timelines and holding the bar for what ships, sitting across engineering, product and the customer. You’ll lead an AI deployment for a major healthcare customer from the first conversation to production, turn ambiguous customer needs into technical plans with owners and timelines, and make tradeoff calls on what to build, reuse or push back on. You’ll work directly with customers to keep scope, timelines and quality on track. The ideal candidate will be able to break hard, ambiguous problems into work other engineers can deliver, with real experience of LLMs and agent systems or the depth to get there fast, and the judgement to say no when something does not hold up. Direct, high-bar leadership through architecture, people or both is expected. Regulated-domain experience and customer-facing background would be advantageous. Years of experience are not stated. This is an on-site role in New York City or San Francisco. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
