Staff Data Engineer

About the role

This is a Staff Data Engineer opportunity with a New York healthcare company building software that coordinates at-home care among providers, payors and patients. The role owns and scales the Snowflake-based data platform, builds reliable source pipelines, and acts as the technical authority on data infrastructure. You’ll own the Snowflake platform end to end as usage grows, own the reliability and expansion of source pipelines including freshness SLAs, schema drift and new integrations, and lead pipeline incident response with a focus on preventing recurrence. You’ll ensure data accuracy and compliance through governance and observability, improve architecture and storage for performance and cost, and set standards for the wider team. Tools include Snowflake, dbt, Python, Fivetran, Airbyte, PostgreSQL on RDS and AWS. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in data, database or software engineering, including end-to-end ownership of production data infrastructure, with deep Snowflake expertise covering configuration, access control, cost and performance tuning. Expert SQL, dbt and Python, change-data-capture and connector experience and AWS fluency are expected. Platform migrations, healthcare or HIPAA data, Terraform and deep PostgreSQL skills would be advantageous. This is a hybrid position in New York City, four days a week in the office. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
