Engineering Manager

About the role

This is an Engineering Manager opportunity with a growing New York AI platform for consumer packaged goods brands, running deductions, cash application, planning and finance in one system. It is a player-coach role creating the first management layer in an engineering team of 20+ that is heading towards 50+. Note that this is a CPG finance business, not healthtech. You’ll manage 6 to 10 engineers, own delivery of the team’s roadmap with lightweight process, work with the CTO on org design, career ladders and management practice, take part in architecture reviews, and build and run hiring. You’ll also develop future leads and managers. The stack is Ruby on Rails, TypeScript and React, and Python. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years managing engineers and 5+ years as a hands-on engineer, experience scaling through hyper-growth at an early-stage startup, and enough technical depth to contribute to design reviews with senior engineers. This is a New York City role with relocation support. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
