Senior AI Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI) opportunity with a Seed-stage New York AI company building autonomous recruiting agents for healthcare, scaling from thousands to millions of candidate conversations. You’ll build agentic workflows and multi-agent systems using RAG and agent-to-agent communication, select and tune models for voice AI pipelines (speech to text, text to speech, voice activity detection) on quality, latency and cost, build evaluation, guardrail and observability systems, and own the backend services and inference pipelines. The stack is Python, JavaScript, Node.js, AWS, Kubernetes and Docker. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of software engineering experience with significant ML and applied AI work, shipped multi-agent solutions with real-time inference to live users, and experience running distributed backend systems. Time at an early-stage startup is asked for, and self-hosting and tuning voice models would be advantageous. This is a hybrid role in New York City, in the office Monday to Thursday. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
