Sr. Data Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Data Engineer opportunity with a Series B US fintech business that helps employers design and administer tailored employee benefits. It is not healthtech. The role owns the data platform. You’ll own the Redshift Serverless warehouse, replication (Airbyte and DMS), orchestration, dbt transformations and a Cube semantic layer, build pipelines that replicate production databases while handling PII and multi-tenancy, and set standards for data quality, testing and row-level security on financial data. You’ll enable self-service analytics, tune reliability and cost, and partner with Product, Engineering, Finance and Security. The stack includes AWS, dbt, Cube, Airbyte, Python, SQL, Metabase, Terraform and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of data engineering experience with growing ownership of platform architecture, strong SQL and Python, hands-on warehouse and dbt experience, and experience with CDC and replication tools. Regulated-domain experience and fintech, benefits or healthcare background would be advantageous. This is a US remote-first position with company on-sites three times a year. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
