Director of Engineering

About the role

This is a Director of Engineering (Data Streams) opportunity with a Series C New York healthcare data company whose platform gives life sciences organisations data and AI-driven insight on doctors and trials. The role owns the engineering organisation that delivers recurring provider, organisation and clinical trial data feeds to enterprise customers. You’ll set the technical direction for the Data Streams organisation, lead the build-out of a configurable pipeline for ingesting and standardising customer provider directory data (moving from bespoke per-customer work to template-driven onboarding), enforce the data governance framework, resolve competing priorities across engineering, product and sales, hire and develop engineers and managers, and lead incident response on data delivery. You’ll stay involved in architecture without coding daily. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years leading engineering organisations at director level, including managing managers. Experience owning a data product delivered to external enterprise customers, productising bespoke work into a configurable platform, and pharma or life sciences knowledge are expected. This is a hybrid position in New York City. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
