Backend Engineer

About the role

This is a Backend Engineer opportunity with a New York based fintech company serving physician practices. You’ll build the payments and financial APIs that independent practices rely on. You’ll design and ship backend services in Node.js, Express and Postgres, integrate with third party fintech APIs, and own features from design through to production. The ideal candidate will have around 5 years of backend experience with JavaScript/Node and Postgres, and fintech API experience is a strong plus. The role is hybrid in NYC, four days in the office with Wednesdays remote. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

• Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
• Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
• Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
• Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
