Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

This is a Senior Backend Engineer opportunity with a New York based fintech company serving physician practices. You’ll take technical ownership of core services and help set the standard for how the backend is built. You’ll lead design and delivery of Node.js, Express and Postgres services, work on fintech API integrations, and mentor engineers around you. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of backend experience, strong Postgres and Node skills, and experience with financial or payments APIs. The role is hybrid in NYC, four days in the office with Wednesdays remote. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

• Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
• Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
• Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
• Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
