Research Scientist

About the role

This is an ML Research Engineer opportunity with a Series A healthtech company using LLMs to automate clinical chart abstraction. You’ll sit between research and production, turning new methods into things that work. You’ll build ML infrastructure and evaluation tooling, run experiments, and ship improvements to the core models. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of ML infrastructure experience and 5 to 7+ years of backend experience. The role is hybrid, 2 to 3 days a week in NYC or Boston. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

• Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
• Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
• Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
• Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
