Senior Research Scientist

About the role

This is a Senior Research Scientist opportunity with a Series E AI company building agents for housing and healthcare, backed by a16z. You’ll push the models behind real conversations at scale. You’ll run research on language and voice models, take results into production, and work with engineers on evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a PhD and 5+ years of research experience. The role is in-office in NYC, four to five days a week, with relocation support offered. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

What you'll do

• Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
• Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
• Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
• Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
