Staff Software Engineer, Query Engine [Rust]

About the role

This is a Staff Software Engineer (Query Engine, Rust) opportunity with a Series D healthcare data and analytics company. You’ll build the engine that queries healthcare data at scale. You’ll work in Rust, with Python, C++ and Spark, across Snowflake and Redshift, and bring LLMs into query workflows. The ideal candidate will have staff-level systems or database engineering experience, with Rust a key skill. The role is remote within the US. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.

• Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
• Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
• Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
• Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
