About the role
This is a Head of Data Engineering opportunity with a pre-seed healthtech company based in New York. You’ll build and lead the data function from early on. You’ll set the data strategy, hire a team, and work with SQL and LLM-driven systems. The ideal candidate will have data engineering leadership experience and wants to build from scratch. The role is hybrid in New York, with remote within the US also possible. We're looking for someone curious, pragmatic, and eager to work across the stack with a small senior team. You'll own end-to-end delivery of major features, influence architecture, and mentor engineers.
What you'll do
- Ship customer-facing features on a weekly cadence.
- Partner with design and product on scoping and trade-offs.
- Drive technical quality through review, testing, and docs.
- Mentor one or two engineers on your team.
