Description
This is a Staff AI Enablement Engineer opportunity with a growing Series D US digital health business focused on making psychiatry more accessible through technology. The role sits in the Corporate and Technology team and is a hands-on builder role first, with a mandate to define how generative AI and automation are used across the engineering organisation. The business operates at significant scale, with hundreds of psychiatrists and therapists and over two million patient visits delivered, so the tools and agents you ship will change how a large engineering team works day to day. You’ll act as engineering’s subject-matter expert on generative AI, agentic systems and AI-assisted development. That means meeting each engineering team to find the workflows that slow them down, building a prioritised backlog of AI-enabled solutions, and owning the roadmap from proposal through to measured impact. You’ll evaluate and pilot AI coding assistants, design and run a network of specialised automation agents on a shared architecture, set guardrails for quality, security, cost and responsible use, and help data and clinical teams move rules-based systems towards ML-informed approaches. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years’ software engineering experience, a record of shipping production systems end to end, and hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic systems, including prompt design, tool design, evaluation and orchestration. Prior staff or principal-level individual contributor experience is expected, along with applied ML fundamentals and a proven ability to drive adoption without direct authority. Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry, RAG and model evaluation, and building internal developer-experience or AI governance programmes would be advantageous. This is a fully remote US position suited to someone who combines strong engineering depth with product sense, clear communication and the credibility to influence engineering leadership.
